19. Voir Dire

I am now certain that anything can and will happen during this journey. The question is….Lite….what else are you not telling ME? “What subject?” Let’s start with the….I guess I’ll call them human helpers. The ones I am supposed to find. “Well, based on the little problem we just had with the hunters, we will need to be careful in selecting those humans who would be willing to become one of us.” Little problem? ..One of us? ..What?

“I probably didn’t make myself clear about bringing the collected humans back to LiteWorld. You see, the only way they can assist us is to become one of YOU…sort of.” I’m not going to like this …. and you didn’t tell me this before because…..” I didn’ t think it was important then. Surely you must realize by now that the humans have no real powers other than through some inadequate weaponry. I think the Lite Ring proved that to you with our hunter experience.” Again, I ask you how are we going to convince the humans to join us….I’ll use us for now..and then agree to convert to ME? “First we find some, identify those that meet our qualifications, and then we use the Lite Ring to get them to join us.”  And just how are we going to have frozen humans follow us? “We won’t freeze them this time….just sort of make them mindless.”

Mindless, non-frozen humans wanting to join us and become ME…..tell ME you actually planned this and you aren’t making this up as we go along! ” I plan everything….. After all I am the Lite.” I’m not sure what to think about that comment…so how do I transform these collected humans? ” As I said before, once we have collected a large number”…..excuse ME, how large is this number? “About 100 or so.”  This is getting better all the time. “Let me finish. After assembling our soon to be army of human helpers, we take them back to LiteWorld and using YOUR ever growing abilities, YOU transform them.” Is this difficult to do? “Not difficult….but it is complicated and there is a sort of ritual process you will have to perform.”

Ritual? “Yes, but we have a long way to go to collect our mass of helpers and YOUR  covering is constantly undergoing changes that will increase your capabilities considerably. It will be a while before we make the trip back. In the meantime we need to start identifying and collecting our helpers.” So, how do I select them? “The humans have two genders, male and female. We need an equal number of each. Also,they must be newer or younger humans,  no older than 30 of their calendar years. Any older and they may not be able to withstand the transformation process. Oh yes, and they need to be relatively intelligent.”

Okay….but before we start this human hunting and you change the subject, tell me again about this ritual I am supposed to perform at some point. “I don’t have time to discuss it in detail now but it is called……The Lite Dance.”
