24. Rock, Papr, Scissors

Leaving Stan “the Man” in his non-zombie state had its advantages. He was more responsive to his immediate surroundings and could help Bill and Nora take evasive action when I was in MY reflective state. The only problem was he talked continuously. “Hey!” Stan was looking at ME and shouting…again. “Do you have a name? I think the TV called you the “light man” or “text talker” or something like that.” I turned and looked at Stan. “I don’t really have a name, as you call it. MY specific being is called…..”Entity”…..although “light man” is not far from the truth. And Stan, you need to stop talking so much. We all need to be quiet.” Stan looked down and said, ” Okay, boss!”….I thought, I  really should make him into a zombie!

I turned and started walking again knowing that Stan would be following along with Bill and Nora. We had just a little time before it was totally dark so I decided to look for a place where we all could hide. After Stan, Bill and Nora were well hidden and I gave Stan his instructions, I started to venture out in MY reflective form and see if I could find some more humans for my growing army. One thing was certain, I didn’t need any more like Stan. “You know the Lite Ring has developed some new devices that you can now use.” The Lite was communicating with ME again. “I hope it’s something I can use to control Stan,” I thought.

“It’s better than that. The nano materials and active matrix displays that make up the Lite Papr that covers YOU and is layered on YOUR cape is constantly evolving. There is a new material that has been developed that YOU can both use for YOUR own purposes as well as apply to other objects and humans as well. It is called Lite Wrapping.” I was just getting used to the Lite Ring but if this new device or material could be beneficial in helping ME accomplish the “collecting” task then I would learn how to use it. “It is better than being reflective,” the Lite projected these words in large type and in a deep red on MY cape. “Tell ME more,” I thought.

“Lite Wrapping is just the Lite Papr enhanced. By simply thinking “protective” rather than “reflective” the Lite Wrapping will simply mimic YOUR surroundings so you blend in with what ever is next to YOU, behind YOU or in front of YOU. And, this is the best part, YOU can use the Lite Ring to produce a micron thin sheet of the Lite Wrapping and apply it to any object or human. The material will become symbiotic with the object and provide the same mimicry advantages. More importantly you can control YOURSELF, the humans and objects to look like or mimic something not in their immediate surroundings. And you can command your army while in the “protective” mode.”

This could be interesting I thought. I wanted to try it on something to test the capabilities. Then I saw MY first test subject. “Hey Stan,” I wrote on MY cape. “Shut up and get over here.”
