53. Shadows On The Road Ahead, Shadows On The Road Behind

I did not spend a lot of time studying the facial expressions of the humans as most of them were not very animated once I hit them with the Lite Ring.  The facial expressions of the two guides were, to say the least, interesting. The second attempt at getting them to accept, in part if not all, what we were saying about the missing passages was not anymore successful than the first. Although at least this time the guides were not falling to the ground screaming.

The two guides looked directly at me and this time the taller one spoke. “We are not impressed with your mysterious skills…and we do not believe there were any teachings of the prophet Mohammed that were either left out or removed…at any time. It is blasphemous  for us to even talk about such things! There is an accepted order to our world and the teachings of Mohammed are the basis for that order. It has worked well for thousands of years. It is our future purpose.”

“Perhaps we should wait until the third guide is back to his senses and discuss this with him?” The Lite was not willing to give up this easily. “I was there when these teachings  were preached by Mohammed, this “accepted order” would never have been accepted by him. He knew the power of his words could both heal and destroy. Humans are never satisfied with simple explanations of their own origins…they have to believe it came from a higher power. It is for that reason that these other passages must be added to the Qu’ran.”

The human soldiers on horses were now outside our little compound and I expected them to start searching our new hideout at any moment. The third guide was coming around a little and I wanted to leave all three with one more parting comment. “In a few moments we will all disappear and leave this place. Whether you accept our presence as a sign of changes to come or not, a major shift in the belief  of all humans will happen. That is the purpose of our journey…to effect that change. We may not be able to totally change your minds but we can alter your perception.”  I looked at the three guides, saw some questioning expressions on their faces…but they made no other comments.

I instructed the Elite to prepare to leave the building and courtyard. The other three Elite packs were staged just a short distance from us in an outlying area. Once we all connected we would be heading toward our final destination. This last place, like Mecca, would be a bastion for the other religion dominating this planet. Here again, we would have to convince the Holy Guides that significant changes in their belief system would be necessary.

The large moon of this planet was now out. Walking out of the courtyard  toward the area where we would meet with the other Elite packs, I noticed the  moon shadows that were cast by the humans and buildings on the sandy terrain. In LiteWorld there is no moon or light. In LiteWorld there are no shadows in the dark.
