69. Your Latest Trick

There is always a fine line between taking a calculated risk and having  absolutely no regard for your safety. The drawings on the wall of the decapitated Elite were a reminder to all of those in Mecca that the enemy of Mohammed walked in the shadows and carried a message of blasphemy. The Elite took notice of those monstrous depictions.

The Arabian soldiers were willing to give their lives to protect the Spiritual Guides. The two Elite packs, lead by Stan and Bill, had at this point won every conflict with the enemy soldiers….with help from the little one with the red circle on her chest. The longer they took to find the Guides the greater the chance of being found and then having to defend themselves again. This was the issue that Stan, Bill and the Entity discussed just before the flight over to Mecca.

Jolie was walking along the wall and headed toward an entry way through the wall. This was a gate not a wooden door so you could see into the city. Stan motioned for Jolie to stop before she got to the gate. Even though the Elite were reflective, Stan knew the dogs could detect them and he didn’t want Jolie to be the first one to have any contact. Stan wanted to have  that luxury.

Bill’s pack had found an entry point through the wall and made its way toward the largest concentration of human soldiers as planned. The Elite spread out in 30 foot intervals so as to search the widest area ( approximately 300 feet with 10 Elite) and still have visual… Elite visual contact. This spread formation also isolated one Elite so if there was any contact from the humans or one of their dogs the entire pack would not be attacked.

Stan cautiously looked through the open gate and saw a number of guards on horseback, riding  in vehicles and just walking…but no dogs. He used his Lite Ring and quietly cut the bars away from the frame and removed them. Then he used his Lite Wrapping to mimic the gate door as he stood in its place. The rest of his pack, along with Jolie, saw what he was doing and moved quietly behind then slid sideways past Stan onto the other side of the wall.

Jolie contacted Stan. “There is a small temple right next to the statue of Mohammed. Do you see it?’ Stan looked around and saw the statute about 50 yards down to his left. “Yes, I do,” Stan said.   Jolie was walking slowly in that direction. “The three Guides are either in the temple or a room in the base of the statue. I think I can tell better if I get closer.” Stan thought about this and realized Jolie was going to get there before the rest of the pack. He was about to tell her to stop and wait for him and the pack when the thing he and Bill worried about the most happened.

From out of nowhere a large pack of dogs materialized, running full speed directly toward Jolie. Stan saw them and motioned to the other Elite to stand ready to defend themselves.  As Stan watched the dogs he noticed they were not getting any closer to Jolie. Their legs were moving at gallop speed but the distance between them and the little one did not decrease. Then Stan saw why. The dogs legs were not touching the ground…
